Too many mocks want to ‘replace’ Troy Hill and Brockers just because they’re now gone. Too much checkers and not enough chess, I think.

I see it differently. Brockers’ replacement is already on the roster and Snead probably needs to get a future outside CB to replace DW next year, not a mere nickel CB.

Moreover, I see either LOT or WOLB as much bigger ‘22 needs than DL because of our highly regarded (by Snead himself) depth there on DL.

And all that is assuming that they like one of 3 guys to be their starting OC over spending a draft pick on one.

C’mon...
So if Corbett is our OC who make up our starting OL, do we put Boom in at OG, not his best position or are our starting OG's Edwards and Evans with Boom as swing reserve OT? How can people on this board think Tremayne is our starting OC when I can't recall him ever playing? Which is better than the crapshow Allen put on tape but only because unknown potential>known incompetence.

Well, this is just my personal opinion, but I’m thinking that moving Corbett over to OC is the least likely of their probable internal roster moves for starting OC this season.

Here are my candidates in order:

Shelton
Anchrum
Allen

All more or less equally likely and moving Corbett would be my #4 choice. Moving Corbett results in a new hole at RG, btw, the other 3 create no new holes.

As an aside, I don’t see either Boom or Evans as OG’s anytime soon, either. I think that they’re both OT’s moving forward.

With respect to your skepticism about Allen and/or Anchrum as potential starting OC, I must remind you that these coaches know the capabilities of these two players infinitely better than you or I ever will. There has to be a logical reason why the Rams let Blythe walk and didn’t sign ANY other FA to be their OC. The draft is unlikely to provide our new starting OC for our new QB, even at 57.

So, what other conclusion can be drawn as to their plans at OC other than one of those 4 players already on the roster? And it’s a very short list.

It’s a simple process of elimination.
