Then, turn around and trade Kupp or Woods.
That makes zero sense.
Rams will pick up a WR in the draft, then continue the way they have since McVay has been working with Snead. Keep the roster fresh with younger talent, allow those players to develop.
But, go get those "cornerstone" players in FA or TRADE to keep the team competitive year after year.
