The Rams have $6mil in cap space even after figuring what their draft class will cost.
Clearly the big contract FA time has passed.
Now it's mid and low tier and I think the market has close to dried up for these guys for the reason we all know: the reduced cap for all teams. It's reducing to a game of musical chairs and the agents know the music is getting close to ending.
So I think the Rams are doing what other teams are doing..... waiting it out. But that doesn't mean that the Rams haven't been poking around, talking to agents about what they might want for some particular player, and the Rams saying what they would be willing to spend.
At this point, it's a silent auction. And I think we'll see at least 2 more FA signings by the Rams... at what positions I don't know. But I would suspect that considering how many CBs are still out there, that Richard Sherman might be affordable. The Rams would be able to field an awfully good staring CB group with him. Imagine having to choose to throw against: Ramsey, Williams or Sherman.
At Edge, Kerrigan and Melivin Ingram are solid vets that will get QB pressure from the weak side. And still maybe Austin Reiter at Center for at least a guy who has played a lot of Center in the NFL in a high level offense. He sure won't get more than Blythe got.
