He was actually 6'-3" and around 280 to 286 lbs depending on the site.
He has an absolutely miserable arm length of 31.5" which means for as great as his hands are, DL are going to get into his body. And once a DL is into your body you are going backwards.
So if he played at 286 (he looked like he could add weight and did for his pro day) how much more good weight can he add. Because he needs to add some serious strength and weight if he is not going to get manhandled by bigger interior lines (the Jets and Blythe?)
He's a team captain and a leader on and off the field, has a OL dad and went to Stanford. Kid is smart, plays smart, and has great hands. But he is physically limited by his body. If you want to draft and stash him for 2 years and hope he adds enough strength to not get pushed into his QB on every other pass attempt fine. But do it in the last round or UDFA. Now I have no idea why he came out, but he got bad advise. Go back, add some weight, add some strength and prove you can handle the next level. Add to that, due to his size, he is strictly a OC candidate. No cross training to OG for him.
He projects to a zone team, so the Rams make sense, but from all the Stanford talent, he is one of the last I would draft. In fact, I'd prefer him make UDFA and see if he wants to hook up with his old OL coach. Win win. But he ain't protecting Stafford this year.
