Now I trust Kyle Shanahan who I believe is a true blue QB whisperer, however, IMO, Jones could be a bust. He only had one year in college and Alabama under Nick Saban has yet to produce an upper echelon signal caller, albeit, the jury is still out on Tua. I thought it was Trey Lance, but apparently it's not and maybe Shanahan will prove me wrong, but I hope Jones is not that good in San Francisco and finds success elsewhere.
I figured it was Lance too. But Shanny attending Jones in person demonstrates that he wants consistency at QB. Jones is not elite in his talent level but he has a high floor and experience in a pro scheme so there is potential for him to give them an upgrade quicker than some of these other guys.
That move was a counter to Stafford as well. They recognize the Rams just got a lot better and the gloves are off. IMO.
Or it could be because Jimmy "Glass" GaCrapolo can't stay healthy and ShanaLynch are tired of his injury BS. They are lacking big time in QB consistency. Plus rookie QB salary makes managing the cap a little easier.
