It seems clear the Rams like to develop players

I think this has been the MO since McVay came in. They brought in Whitworth and Woods at the start as those were 2 positions that the prior regime hadn't developed. Since then, it seems to be a steady flow of multiple day 2 and 3 draft picks and udfa's. Most they don't shove out on the field right away as full time starters, some they do. They work them into the system and then roll them out over time. I didn't expect much in terms of big name FA's this year. For every guy on the market, they may have a guy (or 2) that they think can do the job as well for cheaper. When developed players get expensive - they hold onto the core and let the others walk, with more developing players in the wings. Maybe they think Lawler can be the next Morgan Fox. He was a college DE.

Our big moves seem to be rooted in trades. That's how they make their splash moves. Not sure why this is.
