In fact I suspect he's number 1 on the list.
I imagine they will (or likely already have) talked with Brocker's agent for a substantial restructure with a large reduction in pay. These don't happen all that often because of player ego and hurt. So, they go elsewhere, sign for the same or less, and somehow they feel better about it.
He is simply not worth what they're paying him. If they had the luxury of some extra cap space they might try to accommodate because he is a solid, reliable, versatile player.
If they were going to cut someone he probably is #1 on the list. But I see a trade as more likely than outright cutting him.
He's not actually overpaid. Last year the Rams signed A'Shawn Robinson for 2 years / $17M. That's $8.5M per year on average. Brockers signed for 3 years / $24M which averages to $8M per year. And Brockers has been more productive than Robinson. They got a good deal on the resign because Brockers was out of options once his other FA deal fell through. $8-$10M is the going rate for a good vet D'lineman.
With his veteran leadership, my guess is they'd want to recoup something for him rather than releasing him.
