Excellent point, 69. We’ll see what direction McVay/Carberry choose to go.

I do have a couple of thoughts on OL.

Blythe is a ‘pretty good’ C. Adequate vs 75-80% of D’s, but gets overwhelmed by the top units. I don’t think we can win a SB with Blythe at C because there’s no way that he can handle the top D’s in a deep playoff run. So, our course is clear. We must either upgrade from Blythe or settle for losing in divisional playoff games. Pick one.

I’ll also say this. McVay didn’t trust our OL to protect for deep drops and was forced to use rollouts, among other things, to compensate which didn’t do Goff many favors, incidentally. Yeah, Goff could be effective in that role at times, but McVay NEEDS to have his deep passing game back if this O is to return to top 3 status. And after acquiring Stafford, why wouldn’t McVay want that?

So, to summarize, especially after parting with Kromer, don’t be surprised to see some significant changes in OL blocking scheme AND personnel. Both Blythe and Hav might be playing on other teams this year as a couple of examples. Edwards and Corbett might just be starting at different positions this year, as well.

The handwriting for OL change is already on the wall if you ask me. There will be changes.
