I really am curious how they will deal with the cap. There is managing numbers and there is managing numbers... I tried using the calculator on OverTheCap the other day and was having a hard time just getting them to zero. I restructured Donald, Ramsey, Woods AND Kupp plus traded Havenstein and cut Allen and Demby and was STILL a little bit over.
I was able to create around $70M on OverTheCap.
There also may be another $5M in rollover money that they're not yet accounting for. With rollover, Spotrac has the adjusted cap at $190.674M. OverTheCap has us at $186M.
Here's a great article on how they can shave $50M of the cap with 5 moves - restructure Donald, Ramsey, Stafford, trade Hav, cut Young.
https://theramswire.usatoday.com/lists/rams-salary-cap-moves-restructure-cut-offseason/After those 5 moves, they can restructure Woods for another $9.1M. They can either do a traditional restructure on Kupp for $8M or extend by adding a 4th year which could increase savings this year to $10M.
They can and probably will trade some players: Hav (already listed above), Brockers, possibly Woods or Kupp.
If they pulled all the levers, they could create approx. $75M this year. Subtract the $34M that they're down and they are left with $41M. They won't even need that much to do whatever it is they want to do so I doubt they pull all the levers.
