And my initial reaction that second I heard the trade was "wow, what a huge mistake"

This team will have little to no depth. They haven't had great depth the past four years....most especially on the OL, LBer......both of those units were on full display tonight. KC's offensive line was a bunch of back ups getting the crap kicked out of them.....Mahomes couldn't overcome that.

For Tampa: their team speak with those four linebackers absolutely destroyed KC's intermediate/screen passing game

Can Snead find talent in later rounds the next few years? Sure.....I guess it's possible.....but I definitely don't see it as likely. The top OL and LBers tend to go early...

Mahome is stunningly talented.......he is unreal!! But even he couldn't overcome that lack on his OL......Whit is almost 40......and the OL is weak up the middle on the Rams....

Our entire salary cap is now tied up in QB, DT and CB......and paying Goff/Gurley $30 million to not be Rams. Stunning.....like....really stunning.

IMO, the Rams have plenty of depth on the OL. Whit went down and the OL took a step down with Noteboom in his place but it didn't get close to collapsing. Last year, Hav got injured and many feel that 2019 3rd round pick Bobby Evans played better in his stead.

You're really serious about asking if Snead can find talent in later rounds the next few years? He's been finding plenty of talent in later rounds over the last few years. Why would that suddenly change?

SJD starting NT, playing well was a 6th round pick. His backup, Gains, who also shows well in his snaps was a 4th round pick. David Edwards, starting guard, was a 5th round pick. Darious Williams is a 2018 UDFA CB. Many think he should have made the pro bowl this year. Jordan Fuller, starting FS, was a 2020 6th round pick.

These guys aren't just JAGS. They've actually been playing well.

IMO, depth and finding late-round contributors isn't the issue and hasn't been. The Rams have been very good at that. That said, the OL could use an infusion of more talent on the interior. It's issues would largely be solved with an upgrade at Center. An upgrade at Corbetts guard spot would be nice but not necessary.
