IMO this is part of the calculus for them deciding to move on. If your QB can only perform well by being surrounded by the GSOT version 2, then he's a problem. Management will never be able to continually provide that much talent around a QB that cost $35M per year. It's unrealistic.

Good point for sure. I can see this argument having a lot of merit.
But remember all of us here see the same thing what has to happen even with Stafford now at QB: Need a deep threat that Cooks was. Need a solid running game (Akers will be unleashed next season, so check that point) and better talent at center/interior line.
If Stafford would put up the numbers Goff did in 17 and 18 WITHOUT those improvements THEN we are talking.
