Another one of your sound, educated and observant takes dz.
You are always a great read on this board and have been for years.
Silver is a loyal Goff fan and some of the negative things he's said about McVay and or the front office do have merit.
I'm still a Goff fan and I will root for him to do well unless he's playing the Rams. It won't surprise me if he plays better than a lot of his detractors predict.
Players are real humans with emotions and feelings and money doesn't make them invincible to being treated wrong when they are.
The NFL can be a cold hearted business and sometimes fans, GM's and coaches crap on players. I want to believe the Rams brass learned something from this going forward and it won't happen again in the future.
I'm sure McVay will critique himself during his "next press conference" and admit how he could've handled some things differently regarding the end of the season and Jared's departure/trade.
Go Rams and welcome to the ball club Matthew Stafford!

Silver is speaking as Goff's mouthpiece so everything he says should be taken in balance with other reports and our common sense.
Nearly every other report out there is saying we had to pay so many draft picks just to get a team to take Goff's salary off our hands. That means Goff was seen leaguewide as a liability.
Maybe there are those who still believe in his talent and that he can be salvaged but when paired with his contract, the overall package was not considered an asset.
That is contrary to what Silver is saying. And since he's a lone voice with that view it's likely due to bias as Goff's mouthpiece.
