I remember the 90s when the Rams and Bengals entered the 1999 season tied for the worst record of the decade.
Memories of winning 6 games in three seasons are still fresh. Memories of setting 'not going 7-9 again' as a goal. As if going 8-8 is the measure of success.
Give me a team that swings for the fences. I know there are going to be strikeouts. But I there will be homeruns, too.
I like the Snead/McVay approach. Do what you think you need to do to win the Super Bowl. And if it doesn't work out? Move on and try something else.
It's easy in hindsight to criticize the Cooks, Gurley, and Goff deals. Sure, that swing didn't work out. (Close, though!!) And so the team has changed course, and I suspect they'll be one of the favorites to win the NFC next season. Should be a fun 2021 season.
