I'm getting a really weird vibe this offseason re: the Rams at QB and it's not because of just the whole Goff thing. This goes deeper I think and maybe into McVay's whole direction with his offense.
I know this is a crazy thought but humor me and let's say that he has decided to do like Greg Roman and alter his scheme to simplify things for the QB position (many things of which he was doing for Goff btw from the boots to read a half field to the schemed throws) so that he can just plug and play mobile read-option type QBs in and swap them out when they get dinged up. This would have the advantage of not needing to pay a QB since you can get these guys easily which supports a QB change like a June trade of Goff.
Also if this does sound crazy consider we already have 3 read-option QBs on the roster. In fact of the QBs McVay has brought in during his time with us it seems all have been mobile.
Assuming all this I'm interested on what your read would be on the QBs in this draft and which ones you think he would target. I mean I'm starting to think they might draft a guy like Ehlinger in round 4 and then trade Goff in June and run a Ravens-like attack.
