Our offensive line was really poor last year and our team doubled down on the idea that they just needed time to grow. No matter where we put them this year (most metrics were high on them this year) they were average at worst. Blythe is the only expiring contract. Next is Corbett in 2022. I feel like Mcvay is much more likely to keep at least 3 starters on the line and maybe 4. Maybe we sign the best center on the market? But I don't think there will be much turnover until 2022 at the earliest.
I don't think they were really poor all the time--there are games where they could hold their own. Obviously there were also games where they just got beat up.
I don't see them signing a FA center. Just a matter of money and cap space.
If I had any say in it, they would upgrade center and right tackle, and prepare for having to replace Whitworth. Maybe they have a guy or 2 on the roster who can fit some of that, though this year gave me doubts about Noteboom. But they will probably continue drafting OL.
I agree that they probably keep at least 3 starters on the line, assuming Whitworth is back and still playing well.
