There's no ironclad trend that you need to follow as a wideout. Where you're not any good if you don't show early. I expected him to take over that WR3 role by midseason but there's a lot going on with the Rams at the LOS and McVay requires blocking from his wideouts. He has to be on top of all that plus unseat a guy who knows the scheme and is up to speed.
So it didn't happen big deal. Doesn't mean he's not capable of giving us a boost here soon on certain snaps like third down where he'd be a far better possession option than Reynolds. His separation will play it's about him not thinking so hopefully he'll start pushing hard for more snaps. His snaps have already been up the last couple weeks too, so he could be in that window now where they're trying to get him going.
Either way our hopes are about that run game. If that continues we're going to be in a really great spot in terms of that playoff model. Strong defense, good offensive balance, and a roster that has a lot of deep playoff experience. I like our chances.
Edit: oh and re: Rapp... The guy is a victim of scheme change. He's never been an over the top/split field ballhawk type. Which is what the Rams drafted two of in 2020's draft. When he was in there he played fine, but if you look closer Staley schemed things up to be simplified for him on a ton of the snaps, with guys like Ramsey and Williams on an island next to him vice having him line up next to Hill like Fuller did. He might be a guy the Rams trade to a team whose scheme allows him to be the classic SS type role which is where he's still best served.
