That pass was definitely not a good one but overall, Mariota played pretty well. That whole sequence left me with more questions about Gruden and his playcalling than it did about Mariota. Again, not a good pass but for a guy who probably hasn't taken any first team reps in practice, MM was pretty accurate most of the night. And, even had he thrown that pass accurately, it wasn't going anywhere, was it? Then the weak goal line call later. Gruden did not do that offense any favors with the plays that were called.
His ability to run also stood out, even though that would likely just get him into trouble with injuries in the long run.
