as I am sure you remember, i was at that game. walking out, my son and i were looking for someone, anyone, to take our picture.
the seattle fans were so pissed, we couldn't ask them, then we see a small group of rams fans, one wearing a todd gurley jersey and we run to ask them for a picture.
when we get there, we realize #30 is a ram fan from my small home town in California named Rumaldo Salcedo. He's the guy in the video at 5:19 with the hoodie on next to girl. My town has about a total of about 15,000 people, so you end up knowing all the Rams fans. His grandpa grew up in Calistoga and is friends with Vermeil which juiced his love the team from a young age and he would hook me up with Vermeil memorobilia whenever he visited his grandpa.
I didn't even realize he was going to this game so to run into him was a trip as seattle is 500 miles from where we lived. We laughed and celebrated all the way back to Downtown Seattle.
All this year we would chat before games about how this was the year of LA (he loves the Lakers/Dodgers) .
Well, about a month ago he was driving home from a neighboring town in heavy rain and plowed into a tree, dying upon impact.
I didn't realize he was in this video, so watching it was a shock when he popped up at 5:19.
RIP Maldo.
Good reminder to enjoy and savor the moments.
