I don't necessarily like high scoring games or low scoring games.
But there is a certain je ne sais quoi to particular games. Last night's game had that quality.
It's this feeling of two evenly matched teams that want that win so bad. They're going to pull out all the stops and leave it all on the field. You can feel the tension through the screen. And if you're at the game it's like electricity.
The Rams-Chiefs game from 2018 had the same aspect.
The Rams-Chiefs game had the added drama of being a potential Super Bowl preview and two young QB's having amazing seasons. Not to mention the great RBs. So the similarity and Super Bowl potential added some panache.
And the Browns-Ravens game last night had the heroic element of Lamar Jackson reappearing after the backup QB got hurt to lead his team down the field for a TD, stealing back the momentum. Before Jackson went to the locker room, I didn't think the Browns could stop him. Things were not looking good for the Browns. Then, Jackson gets cramps, in comes McSorley, and the Browns come roaring back. Uh-oh! Things not looking good for the Ravens, now! Ah, but not so fast! Lamar Jackson only went to the phone booth to change into his superhero costume...kind of.
There's high scoring games and low scoring games that don't have that dramatic flair. Both of the games under discussion had that flair in spades IMO.
