Is that you have to bring in a solid OC. And OC's have been valued more as "promotable" to be a HC - that's how they can keep the OC's offense humming. If a OC comes in, only to depart as a HC somewhere else in a year or two... it's like McVay or Shanahan leaving the Washington Football team, who ends up firing Jay Gruden and wishing they had kept either McVay or Shanahan.

Long story short, I believe this is why Saleh has not gotten a HC job yet, and why Staley will stay more years with the Rams.
