If this season ended today we could certainly say that Staley had a positive impact on our defense based on reduced expectations. What would Wade's Defense have done with our current personnel? We will never know.
If I am a team that might be looking at Staley I would want to see his defense fully implemented and instituted next year and accompanied by the chages of the offseason and draft. Would the defense be better or worse. Lets face it many Ram fans were very dissappointed with Wade's Def which cost us a winning season giving up key drives and leads. They dropped off from our SB season. Many fans including myself understood that the change that came was risky but hoped there was someone either in the wings on the roster or a better DC propsect to take his place.
This is Staleys first season as a Coordinator. Perhaps a second will also better prepare him. I say this because we have some great talent on our defense that will not be available where ever he goes and he may need to refine and prove this is not just his stars that are making him look genius.
