Deangelo Williams. I can see the Bell comp. as well.
From my draft recap Apr 26th:
I liked the Akers pick. I wanted Dobbins in the worst way, but I get Akers. One guy on the radio late friday night said he works prepping prospects for the interview process and of the 80 kids he worked with Akers was in his top 5. That was unsolicited, and he was not lead in that direction... fox radio SXM I believe. I also mentioned, I believe on the A very weird Fantasy podcast/Youtube that Akers might be the best RB of the draft class when its all said and done. He had nothing at Free Shoes U. No OL, no Qb, no anything. It was him gameplanned against week in and week out, he didn't quit, complain or half-ass it. He flat out worked and dominated. He would have been a 1st rounder for Alabama or OSU or Oklahoma. Thats a fact if facts were things I couldn't prove to be facts.
My only concern is his vision and patience. You need both for an OZS and we haven't seen that from him. We have from Dobbins.
Akers has bellcow size and elite wiggle with HR speed. Not many RBs can claim they have all 3...
So he does have vision and patience. It was the FSU line after all that betrayed him.
JamesJM mentioned threading the needle. He had to at FSU otherwise he was going know where. Its impressive for a thicker back like Akers to get small.
