I don't think I agree. Checking down implies that Goff is being asked to work from high to low. To look for longer plays and then to settle if he has to. But I don't think that's the case. I think he is being asked to get the ball out quickly and to take what the defense gives. Dink and dunk, yes. Checkdown Charlie, no.
