Some teams are just tough match ups. The last thing the Rams needed was to give Shanahan 2 weeks to prepare for the Rams. Especially after a short week in Tampa. The NFL schedules makers have not been kind to the Rams. You schedule a team to fly cross country for a Monday game and then you schedule them against a division rival coming off a bye. I am surprised the game was so close.
I wish Goff was more consistent. How can he look so good against Tampa and play so bad against SF.

Last week Goff was effective against the same Tampa defense that made Rodgers look like a backup. Goff 39/51, 376 yards, 3 TD, 2 INT, 99.8 Rating.
Goff outperformed Wilson the week prior. Then he puts up a stinker against SF. It's very frustrating.
McVay has Carroll's number. Shanahan seems to have McVays.
Goff needs to perform at a higher level.
