You have to be looking to be be better at the most important position on offense. No one would be saying let's stick with a goff like rb, left tackle, receiver etc. He has upside no doubt he isn't the worst qb we have ever had but he is jim everett all over again. Ton of potential but can't put it all together. We definitely don't want worse than Goff but we would all take a qb better with this team and coach. With that said their are better options to be had but we can't realistically do that because of contracts and availability of players. Their is at least 15 better qbs than Goff right now that could make us a better but we can't just take them from other teams.
