I think he's the clear cut #1 defensive mind in this year's HC market. It's not close. Next would be Eberflus but he doesn't have that impact feel due to the previous season. Saleh would have had a job by now if he was going to so he probably isn't very good in interviews, though I do think he deserves one.
But yeah I'd be real happy with Fangio. Even if not, though, match quarters schemes have been in vogue and if anything moreso this year so there's tons of choices so I trust McVay to make a good selection if he needs to.
