Very true. George Allen left his stamp on the Rams defense tradition going back to the 60s. It’s always been in the team culture since then.

No glamor defensive team names like the Doomsday Defense, or Steel Curtain ,or No Name Defense, or Purple People Eaters.

Just consistent aspiration towards the goal of perfection.
