It was good but it's hard for me to ignore the evaluation that Goff is only good enough to run the easy plays. I'd say Speed and others agree with him. And while that's hard to argue, Goff is in charge of the entire offensive operation which is more complex than he's getting credit for managing.
The problem is that when Jared struggles to diagnose a defense, ITS JUST SO OBVIOUS. That is what makes us discount the many times he gets it right. And yet every QB has those stretches including Brady, Rodgers, and Wilson.
The numbers say the pass protection is similar to '18 when the Rams offense dominated. But the overall scheme has changed because of what happened last year. His mistakes this year has McVay "babysitting" as Sims puts it more than he should have to at this juncture in Jared's career. I'm curious if the plan might expand against the Bucs this week. If Brady has early success, I suspect more will be required of Goff and the results will tell us even more if there's been any real progress.
