One thing not mentioned here.
Under Fassel, we had several game changing plays on fakes carried out by Hekker. This year...crickets. Does anyone else remember on a punt return when the whole return team faked a return on one side of the field while the ball went to a returner on the other side? You don't replace elite creativity like that.
Seriously, has there been a schematic win on ST once this year? I personally believe that McVay allowed Bones autonomy in his tenure but personally hated the gambles as they operated out of his control. I just think Sean wants boring and consistent execution from the ST. He's got it. Boring plays and consistently bad execution.
My only hope is that they are saving some plays for late in the year when it matters most but I don't trust it. I don't think McVay does either.
