We all knew Whitworth would be gone very soon. It was amazing that he was playing so well this year at his age.
The Rams never expected him to still be playing in 2020 when they signed him in 2017. This has been all gravy.
Football is a funny game. When the Rams drafted Noteboom in 2018 they loved the way he looked in camp and in limited snaps at LT during the season. VinnyB told me before the 2019 season that the Rams fully expected Noteboom to take over at LT when Whitworth retired. Well, we know how 2019 went and ended for Noteboom. And suddenly his career took a huge detour into big question mark mode. Now, Noteboom is given his big opportunity purely by chance. And he is right where he was projected to be when the Rams were so excited about him in 2018 TC.
