You're right Max, it feels odd to me that so many teams have near equal records at the top and it means the Rams have a good shot at making the playoffs.
Nothing I've seen from the Rams so far this year inspires great confidence. McVay's mistakes at SF and Miami makes me think he lacks "top level coach" ability. He is a far better coach than Fisher, by a mile, but I don't see him winning the big ones. I'm not bad-mouthing McVay, he's been, and he is, a very good coach. I think his best wins this year were Dallas and Chicago. I just don't think he's top echelon.
We have a real good team with a hot-and-cold offense. Goff is better than some give him credit for. I just don't see the killer instinct / hunger at work in the offense. Everytime I think, "yeah, we got it this year" the team does a Miami game and it becomes another "oh boy, here we go again." Somethings are going to have to change / improve.
Gotta disagree big time on that take.....
Name another coach who took a doormat to a Super Bowl in his second year? Could have won that game if Brandin comes down with just one of those catches or the phantom holding call on Sully never happens..... Never seen a coach take the 32nd ranked offense and turned them into the 1st ranked offense in his first year. McVay is by far a top echelon coach, don't let a couple bad games fool you. Only one coach has more wins than him since he came into the league, some dude named Bill.
I agree 2k! I am one of McVay's biggest supporters. IMO, McVay is a top 5 coach. He has accomplished far more than we could have hoped for when he first came here.
He has a great lineage and an incredible work ethic. The best part?????? He's only 34 YEARS OLD! Already been to the SB, was COY and is "growing" right before our eyes! We also have a 26 YEAR old QB who will own all Rams passing records before he is done to go with that 34 year old COY!
IMO, both our HC & QB are still "kids" who are still learning to coach/play at this level. It should only get better from here.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
