I watched JimmyG against a bad Seattle D. He’s not good. And he’s not the comparison I want for Goff.
Question for you is, where do you think Goff ranks as a QB? Top 10, 15, or worse?
Was just using Jimmy as an example as tomthe last QB who played the Dolphins, think he had a 15.7 QB rating against them before being pulled
and how good he looked against us the next week
When Goff has a good game plan and protection he's as good as anyone in the top 5, when he's getting hit on his third step he's a wreck.....like most QB's would be in those situations
How bout I use Aaron Rodgers for an example...go back a couple weeks and watch his game vs TB
Watch ALL Rodgers games this year. His passer rating is 113. That’s 3rd best overall.
You can’t just cherry pick one bad game, you look at how he is performing all season. After 8 games, Goff has not been good overall. That shows up in his passer rating.
Wasn't the point...point was even the great Aaron Rodgers has a few bad games here and there when things aren't going well....he was atrocious in that game
Heading into week 7 Goff was 13th in DVOA ratings and that sounds about right.....Rodgers was 7th btw
I don't think anyone was claiming that QB's don't have a bad day sometimes. But comparing Goff and Rodgers at this point?
Rodgers does more with less and can carry a team. Goff is struggling to make protection calls and recognize blitzes from the looks of things. We're at 2 full years of Goff producing at a below mediocre level. At some point, it isn't everyone else, it's the QB. In the past 29 regular season games, Goff has an 86.7 passer rating. And that's without including the SB stinker. Since that brilliant win against KC, Goff has stunk. That's Winston/Trubisky/Jones/Haskins company he's keeping.
He is literally getting to the point where benching him has to be considered if we're being honest and comparing him to his peers. I know it seems ludicrous to suggest such a thing and he doesn't "seem" like he's one of those guys but after 2 years of declining, how long does he get to live on the memory of '17 and the first half of '18?
Does it really seem like that was the real Goff and he can return to that level? Or does it seem like a perfect storm of circumstances that allowed him to put up Madden numbers for a short period of time?
