Re: Corbett and Edwards (Via Whitworth)

I didn't expect as much as we're getting from Corbett this year. I am no OL guru but last year, I thought he was serviceable. But here he is, an entrenched starter.

Here's some stuff on Corbett that was posted before:

From an interview, Kromer talking to JB Long:

Quote

Kromer thanks Cleveland for not liking Cobert. Uses power well, athletic. They looked at him in that draft but he went too high for them. They don’t understand what went on in Cleveland.

And more. Turns out, true to form, the Rams took an interest in him at the Senior Bowl.

This is a synopsis of the key stuff about Corbett’s background, which is intriguing.

Corbett is a member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe. The Northern Paiute people traditionally lived in the Great Basin region of the United States in what is now eastern California, western Nevada, and southeast Oregon. Now the Walker River Paiute Tribe live on a reservation located in central Nevada.

here are bits from 2 sources (directly copied): [theathletic.com] & [www.espn.com]

Quote

Corbett weighed just 240 coming out of high school. He missed more games than he played in high school due to two knee injuries and didn’t garner much recruiting interest his senior season..

He went on to start 49 of the 50 games he played at Nevada.

After arriving at Nevada as a walk-on, he was the Wolf Pack’s starting left tackle during his redshirt freshman season. He was a team captain by the time he was a sophomore.

His teammates respected the way he played through a painful ankle injury in the final 11 games of his freshman campaign and voted him a captain. He ended up being a three-year captain at Nevada.

Corbett caught the attention of the NFL with a strong showing at the Senior Bowl…where he impressed with his athleticism
