Just watching the games....
The 2 losses we had vs Bills, 49's....vs the 4 wins we had , Philly, Giants, Washington and Dallas.
From the get go, the offense was totally changed. No jet sweeps, no bootlegs, no roll outs, no wr bunch set screens. All the "smoke and mirror" stuff we ran to perfection in the 4 WINS was non existent in the 2 losses.
The 2 losses looked like an entire new offense, why? I have no idea.
When I coached, we always had the "bread and butter" plays. The plays you ran, and you lived and died with. If the other team stopped those plays, then you went to the drawing board and made adjustments.
It seems to me that McVay was holding back "plays" vs the Bills and 49's for some reason. Like he didn't want to "show" them everything yet. I don't know why, but when the Rams opened it up against the Bills, they scored at will.
