We have the second worst ST group in the league in DVoA. He insisted on having Kupp back there out of fear, when Web was perfectly serviceable, thereby risking a starting WR to injury for no good reason. He set up a "competition" where he would have us believe that Sloman absolutely killed it in the last week in the practices that the press didn't see. Yeah ok. Truth is he believes in Sloman and kept him over the others IMO.
Right now Bonamego doesn't want to look like an idiot. So he can't say "we need to make a change at kicker Coach." But the further he goes with this kicker the greater the chance he submarines the team's chances in this year's playoffs.
IMO McVay this week is going to be in some asst coach rear ends. Beyond Bonamego you have the RB coach playing Akers ONE snap in a week McVay said he wanted to get him more involved. You have an offensive sub (might also be the RB coach not sure have to re-watch) that allowed the defense to get fresh late in the game when driving in a hurry-up. Big mistake.
I agree with those who have observed McVay is gonna be livid this week. He should be. This team and STAFF needs a kick in the rear end IMO.
