I don't think McVay is happy with the inconsistencies he's getting from the RBBC approach. I think this job is open right now and McVay is waiting for someone to be the guy who can eat carries.
You can count on Hendy when the line is getting seams. He's the guy who will blow teams out when the holes are there but when he is hammering into tightly packed groups he seems to wear down. He's basically going to be the Kamara role in this offense IMO because he can hit home runs and also help in the passing game.
Brown is going to be phased out. He's the power back in the group but in the last two games he seems to think he's Barry Sanders. That's a good way to get back on the bench for the marginal RB talent. In the last game there were multiple situations where he should have just put his head down and taken the 3 yards, maybe power for 4. That's his role. If he can't do that he's not going to keep his job.
Akers is the guy who has a ton of tape of him showing resilience in hammering into stacked lines. He's the guy they targeted for that reason. He is going to be our horse once he's ready to take the reigns IMO.
