Kiss of death for Jefferson from mcvay. How many times have we heard this line from mcvay. Let's look back on this he said this about Tavon,Gurley,Everett, and Cooks. With the exception of Everett everyone has been cut or traded after McVay said that he wanted to get them more involved. And I expect Everett to be next on the chopping block. McVay is very intentional with his personel and his scheme and planning for players. He doesn't just forget about them out of the blue that's his excuse to the press to say these guys our in his doghouse in a nice way. We all know his memory is legendary and he is deeply involved in every aspect of the offense he doesn't just forget about a player. Everything McVay does is intentional and with a purpose on offense it might be telling that Jefferson plays have dropped off cliff for some reason. Not saying Jefferson can't get it back but he is lacking something in his game at this point and McVay has him on notice until it improves.
Three words: he's a rookie.
Traditionally, WRs take about 3 years to acclimate and become the player they're going to be. Personally, I don't think the snaps VJ is getting or not getting is any indication at this point. He's a rookie behind a talented group.
I know he is a rookie and all but most great wrs are really good from the start. I can name a ton of them if needed but I get your point that he is buried under are current wrs. Doesn't explain how he has dropped from 3rd to 4th on the chart other than he may be making rookie mistakes. I don't think he is a loss caused or anything but I don't really expect big things from him other than being a supporting player that may give us a couple of nice first downs every now and then. Kupp and woods aren't going anywhere now that they were extended. I like having van as depth in case of injuries and think he can be decent but I don't see star out of him.
