Makes sense on KO returns. I get that decision other than on really short kicks.

But maybe the analytics swayed them on PR, too? Eliminates injuries and flags for blocking penalties. So, I can understand the decision in that light. Kinda...

But a football smart receiver is necessary for that strategy. Kupp is as football smart as there is, and yet he chose to return inside the 5 yard line. WTH?

Then he fails to successfully secure the ball? Again, WTH? Add to that the risk of injury during returns to such a valuable O weapon? Gawd!

We have 3-4 players that can fair catch well and surely be better than Kupp on the occasional return. For the life of me I can’t get behind this Kupp as PR decision of McVay’s.
