Going forward, I would have Noteboom focusing on LT...

....and this is how I'd do it....

Once healthy, he would be the obvious back up to Whitworth. However, IF I were McVay..., I would be assuming 'now' that Whit will probably start to wear down somewhere down the line this season (with all due respect) as nobody stops father time. That's not to say that Whit won't finish the season, but I would assume that he probably won't finish it as strong as he's playing now.

So, why not plug in Boom at LT for 1 quarter per game. If the game is going well... maybe a bit longer. Maybe by the last 1/3 of the season Boom is playing a whole half..., maybe more.

I love Whitworth. This is absolutely no knock on him. But even he knows that he cannot play forever, and would do his part for the team. And The Rams kill 3 birds with one stone.

1. Whit gets some extra rest along the way which may help him play better week to week, and by playoff time.

2. Boom gets the needed experience.

3. Rams get a full view of what Boom can or cannot do..... long before the next NFL draft.

I just think, the future of LT is way too important to Goff, and the Offense to leave to chance....

Nope. You can't develop sitting on the bench.

...but he wouldn't just be sitting on the bench.

Well, I just don't see how you ever sit Whit just for Noteboom
