I mean, really.
I do not think Sloman makes it to mid-season Game 8.
I do NOT trust rookie kickers...no matter where they were drafted. The pressure of NFL kicking is it's own beast.
A beast that takes a few years to even understand for kickers. imo
Then, after a few years bouncing around...Kickers get the feel of what the position is and can let their talent flow easier.
I would only use experienced Kickers of 3-5yrs. Punters are fine as rookies. imo
I predict Kickers will become one of the most specialized and sought after position in the next 5yrs. Currently, it AMAZES me kickers are still afterthoughts as they decide so many games these days with NFL having such great parity. Games often come down to only a few plays...and a few points to decide the game.
Kickers will become highly paid the better they get...and there will be a huge new coven of kicking gurus teaching players to kick better and the position will get paid waay more money. The fact that they are still ignored???!!!....is beyond me!!!
