Well, it's not like the leverage Ramsey had came as a big surprise to the Rams. Everyone on this board knew the Rams had to sign Ramsey to an extension considering what they gave up to get him, and everyone on this board knew that Ramsey's contract was gonna be a record breaker. Several even thought it would be north of $20M.

I guess my point is, if we knew all that what are the odds that the Rams were blindsided by Ramsey's demand? Nah, the Rams knew Ramsey's deal would be in this neighborhood when they made the trade. And they did it anyway, so that tells me they were on board with this kind of contract from day 1.

And of top of all that Ramsey made a lot of noise in Jacksonville about what he wanted in terms of a contract.

The Rams walked into this eyes open.

And now they have 2 of the league's top defenders to build around, and at complementary positions--DT and CB. Pass rush, coverage.

Looks like a plan to me.
