Here’s my thinking on this.
We have limited resources with which to acquire a FA without major restructuring and Wolford’s performance gives me confidence if the unthinkable happens. That’s not even addressing leadership intangibles, etc.
Meanwhile, we may have a legit shortage of quality ILB players. Seems like a no brainer to me. Roll with the impressive Wolford as backup QB and conserve possible cap room for a possible FA that might actually see the field in ‘20 at a more needed position.
