Not your average 3-4 defense
“Don’t expect to see the Rams with two inside linebackers on the field as much as most 3-4 defenses do. With only three inside linebackers on the roster, it’s an indication that the Rams could use more 3-3-5 packages, getting five defensive backs on the field at a time.
They’ll probably even use some dime defense with the likes of Jalen Ramsey, Troy Hill, Darious Williams, John Johnson, Taylor Rapp and Terrell Burgess on the field together. Regardless of how it shakes out, this won’t be a traditional 3-4 defense”.
We might need a bit of time to absorb the nuances of this ‘20 Staley D. Gonna be VERY interesting, I think.
