I'm not sure if McVay actually said that. From the linked article:

Aside from my belief that Fournette is a superior player to what we currently have on the roster, my concern is that our veteran RB (Malcolm Brown) has had injury issues the past two seasons while serving in a backup role.
I guess we'll all see soon enough.
