Interesting thread topic, Rock.
Hard to say what the run/pass percentages will be.
On the one hand our passing threats appear to be better than we had in ‘19. I’m factoring in a healthy Jefferson vs the injured Cooks plus Higbee exploded late and Everett is in his contract year. Not to mention that RB was underused in the passing game last year whereas both Akers and Hendy are dangerous threats as receivers.
On the other hand we probably have a better OL to start this year which logically should also enhance run opportunities. Moreover, both Akers and Hendy are young and healthy low mileage RB’s that could give us explosive plays on any snap. Something that Gurley was largely unable to do in ‘19. Opposing D’s had best honor the run threat on every single play action by Goff.
I see a synergistic effect here wherein the run threat and the pass threat constantly help each other.
One last thing. If Jefferson keeps developing as I expect he will, getting separation from the opposing 3rd CB will be like taking candy from a baby. LB’s and Safeties will be helpless against him. And Jefferson will be our THIRD WR!
Add in Higbee and either Akers or Hendy as receiving threats and you’ve got a nightmare to defend the potential Ram passing arsenal.
If this OL is even able to play decently, we are in business and will be able to run or pass almost at will.
