man so much potential and just an absolutely freak athlete. If you haven’t seen his film go get it lol
very excited about this kid... fingers crossed that he can stay healthy
... but off the (limited) game tape I've seen I'm not impressed with him as a pass rusher. He has a TON of work to do in re developing pass rush moves. I saw a passable bullrush and a nice spin move. He'll need to add and refine to make a real impression as a pass rusher in the NFL IMO.
That said, I'm excited about what he might become. I'm NOT excited about the time I expect him to take to get there. Which is also why I love drafting polished 4-year college guys like Kupp and Jefferson. Jefferson is already 24, as I believe Kupp was when he was drafted. For some, that means guys like Kupp and Jefferson are probably relatively close to their ceilings. The good news is that they can hit the ground running, so to speak, and you actually reap the benefit of their service for the entire length of their rookie contracts. Guys who don't stay the full 4 in college, or deal w/injuries, like Lewis, often don't contribute much until halfway or more thru their rookie contracts, and by the time they get really good - if they do, like Littleton - you have to pony up big money or let them walk, having invested some money and a ton of time training them up only to have someone else reap the rewards.
I love the Rams' love of the senior bowl for this reason. Fact is that not a lot of drafted guys will be with the team beyond the rookie contract. But you need a bunch of those cheap young guys to perform well for the team to succeed. Getting ready-to-go guys is the best way to do that, even their "ceilings" are relatively limited.
