Wouldn't mind a little more actual competition but I trust the staff on this one.
Not sure I can automatically trust the staff on this.
Last season, I don't believe our starting OL received much (if any) action in pre-season. They subsequently went out and had it handed to them when the real games started.
I think that there's definitely something to the idea that there's a ratcheting up of intensity from practice...to scrimmages...to pre-season...to regular season...and to the playoffs.
Considering the performance of the OL last season (and many returners), I'd think that they could def use at least 3 quarters of pre-season work.
I'm in full agreement. As amazing as Sean is at all phases of being a young head coach (I think the guy is very special), I have this fear that he puts too much trust in Kromer. And I suspect it's his weakness.
But Kromer proved me wrong in 2017. I did not expect that OL, in fact I expected far worse.
I think we have a finesse OL right now. The starting 5. And we're going to struggle running the ball. But of course I genuinely hope either that I'm wrong, or that we see a change of "starters" that will help rectify that.
