Van ran a faster 40 time than Woody at the combine, and Woody's a vet so I don't think there's any doubt who's faster.
And that said speed isn't the primary concern out there at X anyway. You need to have enough, sure, and both guys do. Who plays X will come down to who can better threaten top corners. That will be Jefferson IMO. Much as I like Woody, his strength is his versatility. Van is much more of an outside the hashes guy to my eye at least.
Edit: oh and btw the above is with the understanding that the kid is going to need more vetting to take that job. I don't think it will take too long, but he's going to need to demonstrate he has a full grasp of the offense and once that happens Reynolds will be back to where he should be, as depth.
