Football Pre-Season can be taken care of in off season camp........Live scrimmages with ref's, ect......Teams can schedule with other teams, work it into the practice routine.....Since HS and College, these players go out on GameDay #1 and the games all count......They are real games, that count.
I'd rather see a LIVE Scrimmage at UCI, or go to Rams Park at Cal Lutheran.
Add 2 Regular Season Games, so 16 goes to 18.......Increase Roster size from 53 to 65, this allows you to keep the "bubble players".....Add 2 more teams to the playoffs, which means #1 and #2 seeds get first round byes.
Easy, bye bye to pre season football and welcome to the season, where all games count.........It's going to happen this season anyways, so let's see if it all works out.
Nah.... I am football junkie and like to have four weeks of games to watch rather than have four weeks of practices and scrimmages that no one would want to watch on TV. I can still go to the UCI and watch scrimmage but it's very short and scripted...nothing like a real game
If they're going to have four weeks of training camp and practice than you might as well have some practice games......although it would be much better if they dropped two and added two regular season games, but the players don't like that idea.....Like I said , preseason is a good way for the back end players to show they have enough to make the team and to show the enitee league by putting in on tape. It is a necessary evil....I think McVay regrets not playing his OL last year in it. If I remember correctly he said something like he might change his approach for this year, but now there is no preseason so .......
