For example, OLB is a mixed bag. Floyd might not be the pass rusher that Fowler was but he’s better in drops and slightly better in run D. Anyone of 4 candidates for the other side should be better in run D than Matthews was in ‘19. So, I think that ‘same’ would be a more accurate grade at OLB.
I think CB is now better. Ramsey/Hill is better than the original Peters/Talib of last year.
And Safety is better with JJ back with Rapp/Burgess over Rapp/Weddle.
I agree that DL is clearly better this year.
ILB is the only area that looks like a downgrade vs ‘19. And even there I see a better ‘20 run D.
In short, I see an improved D roster this year and I further expect Staley’s D to be more unpredictable and steady than those of Wade Phillips.
